The Zenos E10 R: One of a Kind in America

Some of the most extraordinary cars aren't the ones everybody knows. They're the ones that make a true enthusiast stop and say: "What is that?" The Zenos E10 R is one of those cars.

The Story

One of Britain's Rarest Modern Sports Cars — And, at the Time, the Only One in America

Some of the most extraordinary cars aren't the ones everybody knows. They're the ones that make a true enthusiast stop and say: "What is that?"

The Zenos E10 R is one of those cars.

Built by the small British manufacturer Zenos Cars, the E10 was created with one simple philosophy: eliminate everything unnecessary and concentrate on the driving experience. The result was an extraordinarily lightweight, mid-engine sports car with engineering roots connected to some of Britain's most respected performance-car companies, including Lotus and Caterham.

Taking the Formula to Another Level

But the E10 R took the formula to another level. Its turbocharged 2.3-liter Ford EcoBoost engine produced approximately 350 horsepower. In a car weighing only around 1,500 pounds, that created an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio. Zenos claimed approximately three seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a top speed around 155 mph.

Production of the E10 family began in 2015, with the E10 R arriving in 2016. Zenos announced its 100th completed vehicle in September 2016 — and that milestone car was an E10 R.

Not long afterward, Zenos ceased operations. The company was gone. The cars were not. And that makes the E10 R increasingly interesting to collectors today.

A Very Different Kind of Rarity

Top Auto Logistics had the opportunity to transport a 2016 Zenos E10 R that, according to the vehicle's history provided to TAL, was the only example of its kind in the United States at the time.

That is a very different kind of rarity. It isn't the rarity of a famous American muscle car recognized by everyone. It is the rarity of an obscure, hand-built British performance machine that very few people ever had the opportunity to see, much less own.

Exactly the Type of Vehicle We Love Handling

Over the past ten years, we've transported famous cars, historic cars, celebrity cars and multimillion-dollar collector automobiles. But we've also transported cars that only a handful of people in the world truly understand.

The Zenos E10 R belongs in that second category. It represents British engineering at its most unconventional: lightweight construction, serious performance and a willingness to ignore the traditional definition of a sports car.

And for TAL, transporting the only E10 R in the United States wasn't simply another shipment. It was another chapter in a decade of moving extraordinary automobiles.
